Tom Cowan… a visionary man, a gentle soul and an author I admire. This day twenty-seven of #AuthorLifeMonth, with gratitude, Tom, I bow to you.

Once again, #AuthorLifeMonth had me lost in my bookshelves. Trying to pick a favorite book outside of my genre had me sorting through stacks of old friends. Eventually I narrowed the candidates down to one stack of five. Here are the three that made the photo. What can I say… I am a poet at heart.

As I mentioned yesterday, I am not really a bucket list kind of gal. I do it in the moment. But, if I had one, Brú na Boigne or Newgrange would definitely be on it. I go as often as I am able. For day twenty-four of #AuthorLifeMonth, here is a pic from Samhain 2017.

Síochán doibh… Peace be upon you.

I am not really a bucket list gal. So instead, for day twenty-three of #AuthorLifeMonth, here is something that used to be my profession and is now more of a passion. I am a polyglot. Languages fascinate and inspire me. Learning a language opens a window and reveals how a culture sees itself in relationship with the Universe, with the Sacred. Climbing through grammar and syntax is like touching the threads that weave soul to Creation. And I love it.

February, Day Twenty

Today, day twenty of #AuthorLifeMonth brings the discussion around to chapter endings. A good one always leaves a reader wanting more. Here is a favorite from one of my books. It marks the ending of chapter eighteen in Coming Home. #amwriting #shamanism #mysticalfiction #druidry #fiction

February, Day Nineteen

A good critique group is a true blessing for any writer. A roundtable of fellow authors, they can help you hone a character’s voice, identify glitches in your choreography and illuminate gaps in your narrative while catching the odd typo or homonym slip. I am truly fortunate to work with talented writers. For day nineteen of #AuthorLifeMonth, here they are… TW Fendley, Brad R. Cook and Cole Gibsen.
