Nature dances with the Great Song. The rhythms of nature pulsate and flow with the rhythm of the Great Song that sings all life into being. As humans, we are kin to nature and like nature, we too can dance with the Great Song.
For our ancestors who worked the earth, this rhythm was easier to hear. Their work and lives ebbed and flowed with the turning of the seasons. But today most of us live at a distance from nature. We live secure from the elements in climate-controlled buildings. Our gardens, lawns and parks are landscaped, planned and devoid of the wildness inherent in freely-growing nature. For us, we must seek the rhythm of the Great Song.
Find again the rhythm of the Great Song, and hear within It your heart singing.
Fortunately, this rhythm is easy to find for it is in everything. Our ancestors celebrated this rhythm in the turning of the seasons, a dance that flowed through the course of a year. The moon flows with this rhythm, emptying, filling and emptying again in the span of 28 days. Perhaps easiest to track is the sun’s celebration of this rhythm. For the sun dances its turning once every 24 hours, from sunset, through sunrise, to sunset again.
Let the sun sing you back into the Great Song. A few moments each day honor the sun in its dancing. Witness the sun in its setting; acknowledge its darkest hour at midnight and welcome it back in its rising. Take a breath and bask in its fullness at noon, and wish it a peaceful night as it sets. Feel the rhythm of the sun in its dancing, and discover the rhythm of the Great Song within you.
Find again the rhythm of the Great Song, and hear within It your heart singing.
Full Splendor

Gently
the forest sighs
releasing the last echoes
of summer
Shivering slightly
in renewed nakedness
the wood watches
as the heat of longer days
fades with the sunset
We breathe peacefully
together
the forest and I
embracing the freedom
of our skin
For we know
the fire will rise
once again
Peace and long life… Jennifer
